Thing about being a Yankee fan is , that you can't win - the money - if the Yanks win, they are supposed to , and when they don't well it was a total failure.

There are many reasons why this was more than money, but of course the Yanks won because they spent the right money this year. They had no rotation so they went out and got pitchers, and they needed a good first baseman.

But , the Yanks have been back to their 80's spending ways since 2001, in earnest since 2004. It doesn't matter when you just shoehorn players in there.

Money guarantees performance , but not results. RE: Yankees since 2002.

As Ron Gardenhire said, the Yanks don't bring their wallets to play.

But this team had the right mix, and the right heart, besides all the talent.

Plus, the classic 4 still at the heart.

In the end, I am a baseball fan , my team happens to be the Yankees and they won. I know we are privileged, but it's still humbling to see your own team win.

Way to go Yankees, happy for you Chris. My heart belongs to the Mets...and New York City. I am a huge baseball fan-the sport, its history/traditions etc. One of my most memorable times was working as a stand-in on the movie "Anger Management". 4 overnite shoots at Yankee Stadium. I slept for several hours certain nites sprawled across those cushions and stuffed notes reading "Let's Go Met's" in between the crevices; an inter-league Subway Series was to start in a few days there. I was able to walk through certain restricted areas, short of the teams locker room. A private tour of the legends monuments too. This Yankee team, #27 in a line of great Yankee teams has the potential to dominate the sport for years to come. As for now, everyone, including this tired Mets fan loves a parade. Come Friday I'll be at another one for a hometown team!

You know, when I first went to Tampa, I worked on Derek Jeter's house there, when I was doing labor work before I got my pharmacy job, and I was proud to have worked on his house (which was an incredible mansion, to tell the truth). I appreciate Jeter...he's a great player...I appreciate the Yankees tradition...I loved seeing "monument park" at the spring training complex...the first home run I ever saw in person was by Mickey Mantle in 1964 when I was 4 years old...I met Mantle in 1984 and that was a hilight of my life...meeting Mantle was a dream come true for me...I love the Yankee tradition, I love baseball, I've seen so many great baseball moments in my life...but I hate was has happened to baseball, and I hate the economics involved...I'm sorry if I'm raining on a parade...this happens to be the baseball forum for the moment. The Yankees won...deservedly so. Congrats to the Yankees and their fans...I just have some real problems with it all...Sorry....nothing personal.
