Hi Brian, thanks for your affirmative thoughts.... though you know, you could get a round trip flight from Glasgow to New York for only $588 US dollars, which equals 317 UK pounds....

I'd guarantee you a backstage pass to meet Daevid and an opportunity to have breakfast or lunch or share a lager with him!

I've seen his intended set list and it promises to be a great show. He's covering many aspects of his rich and highly varied career. In fact I believe Daevid to be about the most multi-faceted musician/artist/poet on the planet today.

So consider this post a *BUMP* for any US Daevid/GONG fans who may have missed it!!

I saw Gong in 96 or 97 at a now defunct place in Philly called The Middle East. I almost sent Pip Pyle crashing into the stall (which was already on the verge of collapse) as I tried to enter the men's room. It was an AMAZING show. I'd love to see Daevid Allen again.

Ah, Rich.Would that I could do something to assist in the realization of this project.The pursestrings are tied pretty tightly in these parts, in these days.And for that matter time itself is presently at a premium around here...

And I have never seen Gong or any permutation thereof...

God i wish i lived there. It's odd that Daevid is Australian but Gong never tours here. No one has. Although, theres not much demand for Prog here. But it would have been nice to see Crimson or Van Der Graaf.

Yes, he's in NYC right before Woodstock.

If you can't make the Woodstock show, be sure to see him in NYC.... but PLEASE COME TO THE WOODSTOCK SHOW!!!!

Daevid is a master artist.
As I said in an earlier post, I believe Daevid to be about the most multi-faceted musician/artist/poet on the planet today. No exaggeration.

And his trips around the planet are getting increasingly rare. If you have an inkling at all to see this show, don't miss it.
I last saw Daevid three years ago, when he recorded on my album (and in concert the night before) and at 65 years old he had more spirit, energy and pure abundant life force than musicians 40 years younger than him!!!

This is a rare, rare, rare opportunity to see and hear this creative force in a magical and intimate setting.

Daevid and his band GONG have influenced psychedelia and techno way beyond what you could imagine.

Daevid and his band Soft Machine played the early London Festivals with Syd Barrett and his band Pink Floyd.

Jimi Hendrix was his friend and Jimi played gigs with Daevid's band.

David Bowie has said that Daevid Allen was a big influence on his early creative development.

Paul McCartney was so impressed by Daevid that he wanted to do a side project (from the Beatles) with him... back in 1966!

Of special interest to YESFANS, may be the fact that Bearsville Theatre is part of the complex of buildings created by Albert Grossman (manager of Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band etc...) that also housed the legendary Bearsville Studios - which happens to be where Jon Anderson mixed the ABWH album (and recorded vocal overdubs as well).

And I just found out that the owner (Sally Grossman, Albert died some years ago) has closed the Studio this year and is selling the equipment and buildings.

You can own the mixing board for a mere $138,000.....
